Mission and Values

Mission

Helping to support young parents with childcare, education, parenting and life skills.

Vision

The Teen Family Centre has created a safe, friendly, non-judgemental environment for teen parents who are expecting or have children. We provide this environment through our respectful interactions with all young parents and the employment of Parent Support Workers who support these young parents to achieve their educational, social and care goals. We are the only service in Western Australia to be based at a Secondary School, and pride ourselves on the delivery of the Young Parent Program which builds parenting and life skills in young parents

Values

Family Commitment

We develop relationships with families and children to make a positive difference in their lives. Our committment to the Continuity of care means that parents and families are greeted by the same educators each day, and develop positive relationships with all staff in order to provide quality childcare.

Respect

We respect the work and dedication that is upheld by the young parents to attend school while caring for children. We build respectful relationships with the young parents to provide support and assistance for their needs. The staff treat each family with care and respect in each interaction.

Care

Highly qualified and accredited care is provided to children and families that access the service. We know that through care, little minds can develop and grow into healthy, happy children. A caring environment is created for young parents to feel trusted and respected, without bias, stigma or judgement.

Teamwork

We understand that it takes a "Village to Raise a Child", and therefore we work together with staff and external agencies to provide support to children and families.

Integrity

We uphold the highest standard of integrity in all of our actions and interactions. We are honest with clients and families, and hold ourselves accountable for tasks as asked to undertake by families.
